This was a fun piece that was commissioned from an old college friend, Pam. Her friend was getting married and she wanted a personalized wedding gift that would be really unique. Her request was that she wanted a vintage style of illustration, the couple to be in their wedding attire and surrounded by their cats…all of them. Two of her cats had passed away, so I thought it would be nice to make them angel kitties holding a banner of Jenn and Matt’s names and wedding date.

Adding in animals was a first for me in this style of artwork, because usually I just draw animals with either a extreme realism or as a funny character. Never have I tried to combine my style to bring in the cat’s personalities and likeness all into one. Overall, I really liked how it turned out, and the couple receiving it loved it enough to commission me for a personalized wedding gift for one of their family members.

I was given a lot of photos to work with for this illustrated portrait, but I chose 3 out of those to concentrate on.
