ABOUT THE ARTIST
My name is Lauren Noon, and I have a little obsession with drawing portraits that show a lot of personality and resemblance. I’ve been drawing since I was little, graduated from Sheridan College with a degree in Illustration, and since then have been pursuing my passion in character drawings and portraits. I mashed those two abilities together to create what I like to call “Illustrated Portraits”.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
I create these portraits with the intent to capture a certain time in that person’s life. I draw wedded couples, old couples, new couples, hobbyists, families, families as superheroes! Anything goes for these portraits, so if you want to make your entire family into superheroes, then lets do it!. The idea behind these portraits is to develop a character drawing that you can relate to, is fun, original, shows off your personality and creates a statement piece that is awesome to show off in your home!
WHAT ARE THEY GOOD FOR?
Want a really unique gift for a friend, family, loved one, or maybe just for yourself? These portraits have been extremely popular as wedding gifts, christmas gifts, birthdays, anniversaries and more. They have been quoted as being “the best gift by far!”…so that has to mean something right? The illustrations I create are something different and unique that you can’t find anywhere else, except through the artist (me). If you like my style, want one of your own, then lets get talking! I would love the opportunity to draw a creative portrait for you that you can leave on your wall for a lifetime (I hope!).
MY PROCESS
- You send me a couple photos of the person(s) you want turned into an illustrated portrait. Try to choose photos that show off the personality of that person. It makes for a better illustration that you can relate to. It can include hobbies, pets or anything else that you want integrated into the portrait. Variety of expressions is nice as well. Example. This is a wedding gift for a couple. I worked with these photos. I could tell the girl is very vintage inspired and I ran with that for the final look.
- I draw all of my portraits by hand with pencil, creating outlines and shading.
- I polish off the drawings in Photoshop, where all the magic happens. This is where I do all of the final touches by bringing in colour, highlights and shadows, facial readjustments, textures, backgrounds and text.
